Lavender High Altitude Essential Oil is high in linalyl acetate. This lavender is NOT a blend of lavenders from other areas or other countries (which is the norm). Nor is it a blend with poorer quality or dried herbage of lavenders - all of which is common procedure in the production of lavender oil. This is Fragrant Earth’s best lavender for general use, the one therapists use the most and is probably the best in Europe (excluding Alpine Lavender which is a speciality). This lavender frequently wins the annual ‘best quality’ trophy at French Lavender Trade Fairs. It is organically grown and has the French Government approval mark ‘A.O.C.’ (as do the best French wines). The aroma is typical green and earthy with wonderful undertones. From the bottle especially the aroma may smell a bit “new and raw”. Once the aroma has been put on the hand, the warmth comes through and it is wonderful. This oil will be like a good wine and will mellow over time. This oil now has an AOC certification. AOC means that the production has a special certification “Appelation d’Origine Controlee”.
