The finest grades come from Sicily. It is a favourite in Aromatherapy for its uplifting effects. The oil has been used in Italian folk medicine for many years, primarily for fever and worms. Recent research in Italy has shown that Bergamot Oil has a wide spectrum of applications, being particularly useful for mouth, skin, respiratory and urinary tract infections.

As you might expect, Bergamot has a delightfully fresh, 'citrussy' aroma, which is almost universally liked  .

Bergamot and Lavender combined are the classic anti-stress and uplifting combination.
