The essential oil which is distilled from the seeds is pale yellow in colour, with the characteristic smell initially sweet and fresh but a tenacious earthy undertone a number of oriental perfumes contain carrot seed oil.. The true distillation is from the wild carrot sometimes called Queen Annes Lace.
Carrot Seed has a powerful tonic action on the liver and gall-bladder, and is used in cases of jaundice and other liver disorders. Carrot seed oil has antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties that may improve skin health and appearance.
