The name Eucalyptus come from the Greek word eucalyptos, meaning well covered, because the flower buds are covered with a cup-like membrane which is thrown off as the flower expands.
Eucalyptus Radiata, also known as the narrow-leaved peppermint eucalyptus, is a commercially grown tree and the essential oil has a 1,8-cineole content of around 75%.
This essential oil is considered to be an ideal choice, as the 1,8-cineole content is high enough to have the desired therapeutic effect, yet not too overpowering.
