Cardamom is a perennial, reed-like herb with long, blade shaped leaves and yellow flowers with purple tips, which are followed by oblong red-brown or green seedpods. The Essential Oil is steam-distilled from the dried, ripe seeds.
Cardamom has warm, sweet, spicy top notes and woody, balsamic undertones. It blends well with most other spices, citruses and florals very tenacious and sweet on dryout.
Particularly useful for the digestive system, stimulates appetite. Reduces nausea even in pregnancy. Feelings of fatigue can be mitigated with a blend containing Cardamom. Emotionally, Cardamom Essential Oil is uplifting and energising.
