Lime is a small evergreen tree with drooping branches, oval leaves, white flowers and small green fruit. The essential oil is expressed from the peel of the nearly ripe fruit.
Lime has a similar action to the other citrus essential oils, and is therefore useful for lymphatic drainage massage, oily skin and acne. Lime is also a good digestive tonic.
Psychologically, lime essential oil is refreshing and uplifting, helping to relieve fatigue, apathy and depression. It adds an interesting note to mood perfumes and massage oils.
