Not to be confused with Brazilian Rosewood, Aniba rosaeodora. Indian Rosewood is not an endangered species and is not on any CITES at risk list. The essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of water soaked chipping wood and is from a renewable source through coppicing. The essential oil has a fresh, warm, sweet, woody, herbaceous bouquet with a green, delicate spicy undertone of good tenacity. The bouquet is said to be essentially like that of Brazilian Rosewood, yet it possesses its own subtle distinguishing characteristics. The oil is said to be analgesic, anti-inflammatory, stimulant and insecticidal.
